Dual Engine: AI Neural Matting & Chroma Color Key
🤖 AI Neural Matting (Default)
Designed for selfies, portraits, and photos with textured walls, outdoor scenes, or varied lighting. Distinguishes subject skin and hair from identically colored walls and textures.
🎨 Chroma / Color Key Mode
Designed for solid backdrops (green screen, red, black, studio white, or graphic logos). Runs in 0ms with instant slider adjustments for color sensitivity, feathering, and despill.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the AI model run without uploading my images?
The neural network model runs directly inside your web browser using WebAssembly (WASM) and ONNX Runtime Web. Once the lightweight model weights load into your browser cache, all image processing happens on your local device CPU/GPU.
Why did a textured wall confuse previous color-based tools?
Color-only algorithms test pixel colors independently. If a background wall contains warm brown or beige tones that match human skin, or dark shadows matching hair, color thresholding cuts into the subject. The AI Neural engine analyzes shapes, human anatomy, and depth context to perfectly separate the subject.
Can I still use Color Keying for green screen or flat backgrounds?
Yes! Simply toggle to the 'Chroma Key' tab in the settings sidebar. You have full access to the Eyedropper, Color Sensitivity (Tolerance), Edge Feathering, Contiguous mode, and Color Despill.
Can I manually fix any missed edges?
Yes. Use the built-in Eraser Brush to eliminate any leftover background parts, or the Restore Brush to bring back any clipped clothing or hair.
What output formats are best for exporting transparent cutouts?
PNG is best for maximum compatibility across design applications and website builders, while WebP is recommended for production web applications due to its significantly smaller file size with full alpha channel support.
