  • •Local In-Browser Processing: Utilizes pdf-lib to isolate page bytes without transferring confidential documents across the internet.
  • •Smart Syntax Validation: Validates hyphenated ranges against total document length to prevent parsing errors.
  • •Completely Free & Uncapped: No page count limits, watermarks, or account registration required.

How PDF Splitting & Extraction Works

A PDF file is structured as a collection of binary objects (such as fonts, images, page trees, and annotations) mapped by a cross-reference (xref) table.

Client-Side Page Extraction

When you split a PDF with BrivTools, our client-side JavaScript engine reads the source document's page dictionary in browser memory. It creates a new PDF document, imports only the requested page objects, resolves shared font and graphic dependencies, and constructs an updated cross-reference table.

Zero Cloud Risk

Because all extraction and ZIP file compression occur inside your browser using standard typed arrays (Uint8Array), your sensitive legal documents, contracts, bank statements, and tax files remain completely confidential on your machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I specify which pages to extract?

You can type page numbers and ranges separated by commas. For example, typing '1-3, 5, 8-10' on a 15-page document extracts pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10. The tool automatically validates your numbers against the document's total page count.

Can I split every page into its own individual PDF?

Yes! Select the 'Split Every Page' option. BrivTools will generate an individual 1-page PDF for each page in your original document and automatically bundle them into a clean ZIP archive for a one-click download.

Are my sensitive or confidential PDFs safe?

Yes. Splitting is executed locally in your browser sandbox using pdf-lib and WebAssembly. Your documents are never transmitted over the internet or uploaded to any cloud storage.

What happens if I enter an invalid page range?

Our validator immediately detects out-of-range numbers (such as page 12 in a 10-page document), invalid formatting, or inverted bounds, displaying a friendly corrective message before you initiate the split.

Do I need special software or Acrobat installed?

No software installation is required. Everything runs inside modern web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or mobile browsers.
